Celestion's fame in supplying guitar eclestion is more legendary that even the company's domestic output. Celestion Ditton Speakers Size: ABRs behave in a different manner from the 'organ pipe' design of a standard tuned reflex port.
I bought two sets. I noticed it has a couple of nibbles around the colla When purchasing, be warned!

This is a pair of Celestion Ditton speakers. What was a surprise to me was there was still some movement down at 16Hz, which is pretty darn impressive for a 'small', less than two cubic foot box.
The HF tweeter can do some wonderful things in certain circumstances the numerous BBC derivatives for examplebut the Ditton 15 isn't the best speaker to hear it it uses a more basic magnet assembly I think. By the day's standards, the Ditton 15 is quite a slim, elegant design.
Digging out some fairly heavy cathedral organ recordings showed lower bass was no disgrace. The units matched in sensitivity, so thankfully no resistors were needed. Crossover frequency is 3kHz.
The ABR itself is constructed diitton a six inch diameter polystyrene block, dithon inches deep. Celestion ditton 25 Loudspeakers top circular tweeters do not appear to be working although replacement kits are available on eBay In good condition, a few minor scratches but nothing a good polish wo The tweeter design passed on to Celestion. Back of ABR mirrors the front of the unit, note depth and same acoustic treatment. If anything I found it a tad bright at times; but very clear, lacking in sibilance and beautifully balanced into the midrange.
Celestion Ditton 15 Vintage Speakers Stored in shed for a few years so could do with a clean up.
The tweeter will blow easily; amplifier clipping cflestion instantly kill it. Again modest on ceramic magnet size, the heavily doped, paper pulp cone has, by modern standards, a very low resonance of 25 Hz. I have a couple of pairs of Ditton 15, they do what was intended, make quite nice music from just a few watts input.
The earlier 15 Ohm Ditton 10's have celestionn cabinets due to heavy sound deadening material glued to the inside of the cabinet walls. Speakers in working condition.
Good condition vintage speakers with lovely sound quality, which up until last year were used by my dad who bought them new many many years ago! However I find I now have several pairs of speakers, most of which cost me nothing, that are taking up too much space!
Whilst in their old cabinets they were brilliant, it is a sound that belies the age of these speakers. As I say, i was not expecting these to be a erplacement for anything I have already, merely indulging in an interest in hifi gear from the past.
The bass could be a tad odd. A few scratches all crlestion.

Die cast chassis on Celestion unit, well engineered and constructed. This page was last updated: From the off, what a delight!
Voigt was the first to use dittton central spider to hold the loudspeaker diaphragm, and this unit mimicks it. The cabinet is well lagged inside. The electrical crossover is about as simple as it can get.
I am not sure what its resonant frequency is, but by shaking the unit out of the box it was possible to detect quite a low frequency low level 'rumble' coming from the modulated air.
