While turning on, it warms up and can be irritating, but while on standby, it is completely silent and while printing, it emits the same amount of noise as any other printer.
I rejected the brother because I thought the orinters was a bit flimsy but mainly because of the split toner cartridge and drum arrangement. I think ink jet cartridges are so over-priced they force people to buy a new printer before buying a replacement cartridge. Try taking the drum out and shaking it to even out the toner inside the cartridge - this is only a temporary measure.
The quality is excellent.
Overall its an excellent printer and it would only cost around bucks now. For super fast delivery times, we have warehouses throughout Australia, in MelbourneAdelaidePerthBrisbane and Sydney.
If it ever runs out, buying a new one would actually cost a lot more than the printer itself. The toner capacity is above average so I wont be replacing it for a while. If it does have paper jam, which is very infrequent, very easy to clear. In terms of noise, printerz is moderate. Printer cartridges are not cheap - almost as cheap to replace the whole printer.
The printer is printerd laser jet so it prints flawlessly with minimal problems. Paper tray is fully enclosed. No problems for 5 years or more. That means you can save a lot. Our generic cartridges are all brand new NOT refills.
The advantage of having a laser jet is that it gives flawless results, the paper is smooth with no smudges like ink jets, and it has a very fast printing rate. BTW, this is not a product support page. They also have different ongoing costs and Choice magazine rates them differently for a range of features such as print speed, quality, was of use etc.
But if the cardboard is thin and easily bent, the printer could still roll it out.
Brother HL 2142 Toner Cartridges
I recommend the following current models: Do not be so surprised. Most orders arrive within 24 hours. Then I replaced it again with a genuine Brother cartridge. The last printer I had had multiple cartridges which were expensive to replace and a pain.
It's hl-212 only for questions to determine whether the product is good to buy or not. Dont settle for cheap refills when our quality products cost no more. Not constantly replacing cartridges like in an inkjet printer. Does not consume space a lot. Of late the printing on the right hand side of the document is starting to fade suggesting a drum failure. Does not give any trouble, 2 minutes to clear a paper jam, 5 minutes to change toner. primters
